Students registered as program-enrolled follow structured subject-program requirements, criteria of assessment/examinations, and abide by the policies.

Those who are registered as non-program enrolled may partake in the subject-program procedures without being subject to criteria of assessment/examinations and certain policies do not apply.

  • Composition
    • (Can be integrated with any instrumental study or as separate subject studied with all theoretical units.)
  • Pedagogy
    • (Instrumental and theoretical prerequisites apply.)

  • Improvisation
    • (Can be integrated with any instrumental study or as separate subject under a specific instrument.)
  • Theory
    • Elementary rudiments and musicianship, keyboard skills, melody writing, harmony, counterpoint, analysis, score-reading, history.
    • (Elementary rudiments is compulsory in instrumental study. Theoretical prerequisites apply to certain levels with all instruments. This subject can be taken as a separate unit but it is advised that students studying only theory do basic piano or keyboard skills.)
